Lawn Care in the San Gabriel Valley

Recurring mowing, edging, blowing and seasonal yard work for valley homes and commercial grounds, set up on site, priced in writing, no frequency promises we have not agreed with you.

Vera Tree Service provides lawn care for residential and commercial properties across the San Gabriel Valley. A lawn stays nice on a routine, not on rescues. Regular mowing at the right height, clean edges, and hard surfaces blown clear after every visit are what separate a cared-for yard from a cut-when-it-is-long one, especially through a San Gabriel Valley summer.

Vera Tree Service, family-owned and run from our Altadena base, provides recurring lawn care across the valley: route visits for residential yards, and grounds maintenance for HOAs, rentals and commercial properties that need a dependable crew and one point of contact.

Your plan is set up after a look at the property and priced in writing, visit cadence, what each visit covers, and what is handled as an extra are agreed up front, so there are no surprises on either side.

What it involves

What a route visit covers

Mow, edge & blow

Lawns mowed at a height suited to the grass, edges cut along walks, curbs and beds, and clippings blown off patios, walkways and driveways to finish the visit.

Seasonal yard work

Seasonal and catch-up work for yards that have got ahead of themselves, overgrowth cut back, leaves cleared, and green waste taken away as agreed.

Fertilizing & weed control, as offered

Fertilizing and weed control are available as offered services within a care plan, scoped to your lawn's grass type and condition at setup rather than promised as a one-size programme.

San Gabriel Valley considerations

Southern California lawns, season by season

Most valley lawns are warm-season grasses such as Bermuda or St. Augustine, or older mixed lawns that behave like them: they grow hard through the heat, thin and slow in winter, and can go dormant-looking in the cold months. Mowing height, visit cadence and yard work needs follow that rhythm, a plan set in April should not pretend December looks the same.

Winter overseeding with rye is a common valley practice for owners who want a green lawn through the cool season while warm-season grass rests. Whether it suits your lawn depends on grass type, shade from your trees, and water, it is a conversation at setup, not an automatic add-on.

Water is the other local reality. Drought-smart care, mowing higher to shade roots, not scalping, keeping edges and sprinklers in view so problems get flagged, helps a lawn do more with less, and any watering schedule should follow the restrictions of your local water provider, which vary and change. We work to the rules in effect for your property and flag irrigation issues we see on visits rather than watering by guesswork.

How it works

Our process

Property look & plan

We look at lawn size, grass type, condition and access, and agree visit cadence and exactly what each visit covers, in writing.

First visit & reset

If the lawn is overgrown, the first visit is scoped as a one-time reset so the route starts from a maintainable baseline.

Recurring route visits

Mow, edge and blow on the agreed cadence, with green waste handled as agreed, and issues, irrigation, bare spots, overgrowth, flagged to you as we see them.

Cost factors

What affects the price

Recurring lawn care pricing is driven by lot and lawn size, the visit cadence you choose, the lawn's starting condition and any overgrowth to reset, terrain and access, gates, slopes, terraces, and how green waste is handled. Commercial grounds add area, frontage and reporting needs. We do not quote a universal per-visit figure, because a small Temple City front-and-back lawn and a large Arcadia property are not the same route stop.

Your plan is priced in writing after a property look. Changing cadence seasonally is a normal conversation once you are on the route, since valley lawns do not grow at one speed all year.
